“China has so much untapped grassroots talent “says the Shanghai Daily. Regardless of how much talent there may be lurking in the back provinces, no one is going to see it on television any time soon.
China’s media watchdog has pulled the plug on China’s Got Talent – a sort of Chinese Idol for the aesthetically challenged.
No more can you veg out on the couch to cheer on the armless pianist, men dressed in pink pig plushie suits or the stand-up comedian (he’s seven years old).
Light shows of this nature are totally scrapped. Good for them, I say.
In prime time, you will be able to watch anything on TV as long as it’s a programme which promotes moral ethics and public safety. And any shows which provide practical information for housework!
If this video is any example of the talent in China, it’s not going to stop anyone from the housework. I’d clean the stove with a bit of rusty steel wool rather than watch this.
